Spring is coming! And with it, lots of warm sun, excitement
for more new adventures and reflection on the past and upcoming months.
To start with though, a quick recap of our trip to eastern-Austria, where most of my extended family lives, as Harry mentioned. We weren’t able to see my family at Christmas, due to the high season in tourism which demands many working hours, so at the beginning of February, we were both able to get a few days off of work and head East for a weekend with family. It was in so many ways a beautiful weekend. In going to see family, I often feel some pressured by having so many people to see in such little time. But this time, we focused on fewer visits with fewer people, and the outcome was great. A day spent with a single groups of family; eating, drinking, playing games and laughing, made my heart so happy. The ease also of travelling a short distance and reconnecting with family after only a few months, rather than a few years, was also just so nice. The weekend ended with a surprise visit from one of my grandmas, who detoured on her way home from being out of town, which would have been the reason I wouldn’t see her, but was then able to in the end! It was so nice to get away from Innsbruck and work for a weekend, and be surrounded by love and familiar faces.

Family!
Now, a couple of weeks later, we are at the end of February, celebrating our 6-month anniversary. How did the time pass by that quickly?! When I look back at the last months, I am amazed and overwhelmed by what we’ve accomplished to get to where we are now. I also know that so much of where we are at now has not been due to our work alone, but that we have been incredibly provided for and blessed. The past 6 months have also been incredibly challenging in many ways, but have, and I believe will continue to, challenge me and grow me. I couldn’t have done it alone, and am so thankful to Harry who has encouraged me in our Austrian-adventure, and with optimism and gentleness challenged me to live outside of my comfort zone. I have learned so much about love and relationships, and each day that I learn more, I feel like I actually know less and less.
Dressed up for a night out to celebrate 6-months of marriage!
We also can’t help looking forward to what the next months will look like for us. We are excited at the prospect of being here in Innsbruck during the warm weather, and getting to hike and climb all the beautiful, surrounding mountains. We don’t know what Harry’s work will look like for the later spring/summer, but are hopeful that connections made this Winter will be an advantage, and ever hopeful in the God who has so abundantly provided for us in the past 6 months.
God Bless,
Christi
The first day I had ever seen sunlight on our balcony; the days are getting longer and brighter!
